The SwingFun Occupational Therapy process*
1. Finding out what’s wrong
Free consultation: you can contact me to discuss, identify and prioritise your child/young person’s need(s).
2. Assessing
A 1:1 assessment of your child/young person will take place either at home or the clinic, using standardised and non-standardised assessment(s) and clinical observation.
Analysing the reason(s) for performance challenges: using the data found during the assessment(s), I will create a bespoke report on your child/young person with recommendations. This takes 5-6 weeks. After this, you can clarify any questions with me.
3. Setting goals or outcomes
Through discussion, goals are planned with you, the parent/carer and child/young person.
- Intervention
Your child/young person’s performance will be enhanced through developing skill(s), compensation, or modifying environment.
E.g. SI Intervention sessions: 1 hour sessions (45mins 1:1 with your child/young person, then 15mins (writing up clinical notes & planning, plus emailing & resourcing as needed).
Occupational therapy intervention sessions: 30 mins 1:1 with your child/young person, then 15mins (writing up clinical notes & planning, plus emailing & resourcing as needed).
- Evaluating the intervention
A review of the goal(s) achieved will be offered after a block of intervention sessions (e.g. 12 weeks for SI intervention, 6 weeks for OT intervention).
