
Following the initial consultation, I use my clinical judgment & expertise to consider the best OT pathway for your child/young person.
Occupational therapy pathway
If your child/young person has difficulties with everyday tasks such as handwriting, I assess and design intervention to support your child/young person to achieve practical goals.
Occupational therapy & sensory integration pathway
If your child/young person has difficulties with everyday tasks and sensory issues, I assess and design sensory integration intervention to support your child/young person to achieve practical goals.
Assessment – a thorough assessment of your child/young person’s need(s), using a selection of the standardised and non-standardised assessments such as:
- Beery VMI-6
- BOT2 &/or Movement ABC
- the Roll Evaluation of Activities of Life (REAL) assessment
- the Perceived Efficacy and Goal Setting (PEGS) assessment
- the Occupational Self-Assessment (OSA)
- the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ)
You will be provided with a set of forms to be completed by parents/guardians/education staff (as appropriate).
Assessment – a thorough assessment of your child/young person’s sensory integration processing, measuring:
- visual
- tactile
- vestibular sense
- proprioceptive sense
- motor performance
- sensory preferences
Using a selection of the standardised and non-standardised assessments such as:
- BOT2 &/or Movement ABC
- Beery VMI-6
- the Roll Evaluation of Activities of Life (REAL) assessment
- the Perceived Efficacy and Goal Setting (PEGS) assessment
- the Occupational Self-Assessment (OSA)
- Child Sensory Profile/Sensory Processing Measure
You will be provided with a set of forms to be completed by parents/guardians such as the Sensory Processing Measure (SPM) for home (and school as appropriate).
A 1.5-hour assessment at home or at the SwingFun clinic.
A 2.5-hour assessment at the SwingFun clinic, in two parts with a short rest break part way through.
